Keep Your Teeth is a labyrinth ball game where the board changes as you go, with holes (aka “cavities”) that get bigger and smaller – your risk goes up or down - according to how you play. To win, you journey your way through a lifetime avoiding holes and snatching all the fluoride power-ups you can, with the ultimate reward: your teeth will last your whole life!
The Bigger Story Behind the Game
Playing with the Balance of Risks and Responses Many people, particularly children, have a hard time relating to abstract concepts of risk and the consequences of bad habits. Turns out this is a big reason why people lots of things they know are bad for them, and dont always eat all their vegetables. We created Keep Your Teeth to give people a playable metaphor for risk and consequences that they can understand intuitively. The metaphor of the game creates a teachable moment for a fresh discussion between a parent or care provider and the child.
Keep Your Teeth is a part of Attack of the S. Mutans! Project, originally Funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research and the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities.
